I ordered the fish and fries. My friend tried the steak and lobster land and sea dinner. Our meal was outside, and some people even ate on the dock. I had a delicious mixed drink. It had raspberry and pineapple flavors, as well as actual raspberries floating in it. So delicious. Prices were reasonable for a tourist area.

Galyn’s Restaurant has been a Bar Harbor institution for over 30 years. Because it’s right off the main street in downtown Bar Harbor, it’s easy to find and pop into for a nice lunch or dinner. It’s been voted as one of the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor, and for good reason.

This restaurant is in a building that sailors once used as a boarding house. It has two floors with views of Agamont Park.

They’re known for their hand-cut steaks and fresh seafood. Their success is linked to their delicious meals. We enjoyed our meal. You can sit anywhere and feel comfortable.

The best lobster I’ve ever eaten! It was an excellent experience, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly, and they answered all of our questions about the lobster and the surrounding area.

Seafood Restaurants In Bar Harbor: Lobster

On the whole, my lobster dinner was probably the most affordable I have ever had. The patio was beautiful, and we were lucky enough to be seated there.

This Bar Harbor seafood restaurant has a beautiful view of the harbor and park with plenty of natural light. The lobster was perfectly cooked and easy to remove from the shell. We were told this was a female. We also enjoyed the rice and broccolini dishes.

Geddy’s

Geddy’s is considered a high-quality seafood restaurant with a single specialty. Both Agamont Park and Geddy’s can be found in Bar Harbor, Maine. After a walk in Agamont Park, I decided to have dinner there and was not disappointed. The server was excellent, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food is varied and reasonably priced. Our meals arrived quickly, and everyone enjoyed their meals.

We started with delicious garlic mussels. The best part was dipping the bread in the sauce. Then there’s clam chowder. Following that, we ordered the Lobster Bake and the Lobster Roll. The lobster was sweet and perfectly cooked. Corn on the cob was also delicious.

Finally, there’s the Blueberry Pie. It was the best pie I’d ever had; finger-licking good! If you’re in the area, this is a must-try for some of the best seafood in Bar Harbor, ME.

Fish House Grill

1 West St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609, United States // +12072883070

Fish House Grill is one of the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor located on the waterfront at 1 West Street downtown. The restaurant is on the second floor of a two-story structure that also houses the Bar Harbor Whale Watch Company, Oli’s Trolley (tour bus), Acadia Air Tours, and Sunrise Cafe.

You can enter the restaurant from the pier or the street-side main entrance to the upper level of the building. There is street parking (usually for two hours or less) and a large parking lot (three-hour parking limit) at the far end of the building. It is free to park on the street or in the lot.

There is dining inside the restaurant, as well as a bar area and an outside area on the dock. We were seated in a booth near a window that overlooked the water.

Since it is located in a popular tourist area, the prices are slightly higher, but not outrageous. Throughout our meal, the service was friendly and efficient. Drinks were promptly refilled, and food was delivered on time.

It was a lovely presentation of an exceptional plate. It was piled high with whole belly clams, shrimp, and scallops, then topped with a large haddock filet. The order came with French fries and coleslaw. I like to squeeze a little lemon over my seafood, so the lettuce and lemon wedge garnish was perfect for me.

Seafood Restaurants In Bar Harbor: Haddock Filet

This used to be fairly common in seafood restaurants, but it is now somewhat unusual. Everything else on my plate was fantastic, except for the creamy coleslaw, which was adequate but not outstanding.

The haddock, clams, shrimp, and scallops were delicious, lightly breaded, and perfectly seasoned. I thoroughly enjoyed them. The French fries were also very tasty. They were delicious, hot, and crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I enjoy sprinkling malt vinegar on my fries, which was already on the table when I arrived.

My friend had the seared sea scallops, which were perfectly cooked and delicious. She also had the green beans and boiled new potatoes, which were delicious.

My other friend had the Baked Stuffed Haddock with Lobster Bisque, which was out of this world.

A favorite hangout in Bar Harbor! Eating fresh seafood on a patio overlooking the ocean doesn’t get much better than this and Fish House deserves its place amongst the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor.

You can order traditional lobster dishes or try something different like fried oysters, hearty sandwiches, and a good drink from the bar. It’s one of the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor.

While visiting from Delaware, I stopped in. Inside is a really cool setup. There’s a lot of tin and wood. The food was delicious. We came here for lunch and were not disappointed. The food was delicious!

Everything was deliciously prepared, and our server went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and were satisfied! He also made some excellent suggestions!

I got the lobster roll, which was smaller than expected but still delicious! Their whale salad is very flavorful, almost like a Greek salad! Next, I ordered two of the Marsh Island IPA, even though I rarely drink more than two beers with dinner.

We also tried the fish and chips, blackened fish sandwich and fried haddock sandwich, clam chowder, and seafood sampler. We loved the clam chowder, which rivals a Boston favorite of mine.

For dessert, we all split a blueberry white chocolate cheesecakes, which was delicious, but the blueberry sauce on the side was even better. That’s something I’d eat off a shoe. But, again, everything was hot, delicious, and fresh! I will undoubtedly return.

West Street Cafe

76 West St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609, United States // +12072885242

The West Street Cafe reopened in 2018 with a stunning new interior and a revamped menu. The “Downeast Special” consists of 1-1/4 pound of fresh Maine lobster, a cup of clam chowder, French fries, coleslaw, and a slice of blueberry pie.

This is one of the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor that offers an outstanding experience. The food was fantastic! The service was excellent, and the bartender created some genuinely incredible drinks! Overall, great vibes and delicious food!

We had a great early dinner here! The venue is enormous, the atmosphere is light and airy, and we were seated upstairs with a view of the harbor. The food was light and airy, with no heavy or greasy elements.

We had mussels, a crisp house salad, and the lobster roll special (which came with clam chowder and blueberry pie for a great price!). The chips were a little too bready and soggy, with no crispy light batter, but the fish was fresh and tasty.

We couldn’t eat dessert because we were so full from lunch. I saw guests order the blueberry pie, and it looked delicious. I stopped by on my way out of Bar Harbor to get just that!

Rose Eden Lobster

864 ME-3, Bar Harbor, ME 04609, United States // +12076103060

The Rose Eden Lobster is the place for quick seafood without sacrificing quality. Rose Eden Lobster, formerly known as the Travelin’ Lobster, is now a takeout lobster shack. They serve ready-to-eat lobster and live lobsters if you need to take one home quickly. Here’s why it’s one of the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor:

Seafood Restaurants In Bar Harbor: Lobster

The best lobster I’ve ever eaten. True fresh Maine lobsters were served. Their prices are excellent; there is no need to pay for parking, and tax is included in the price.

Nothing too fancy. There are no specialty alcoholic beverages. There will be no live bands or t-shirts. Only cold pop and beer are available. Oh, and the clams and mussels are incredible. Blueberry Pie, of course. A must-visit if you ask me.

C-Ray Lobster

882 ME-3, Bar Harbor, ME 04609, United States // +12072884855

C-Ray is on Mount Desert Island’s north side, just outside Bar Harbor. I needed my lobster fix as soon as possible, and C-Ray’s was the ideal first stop! This lobster shack has a very authentic, rustic feel to it.

On this trip, I had about three lobster rolls. Huge portions; if you prefer smaller portions, you can share yours.

Seafood Restaurants In Bar Harbor: Lobster Roll

Perfectly clean. I asked about the naked roll. The naked is cold, drawn butter instead of mayo, and so on. The lobster was cold, and the bun was perfectly toasted. It felt like heaven!

They also serve the best clam chowder I’ve ever had! I ate it while sitting around the fire. Overall, I had a great time and ate delicious food at this gem amongst the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor.

Havana

318 Main St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609, United States // +12072882822

Since its inception 23 years ago, Havana has been committed to serving local and organic meats, produce, and seafood. All of their meats are “naturally raised,” meaning they were not given any steroids, antibiotics, or hormones, and “humanely raised,” meaning they were given plenty of space to roam, adequate shelter, and gentle handling.

This is one of the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor. Add it to your list of must-see destinations. Our waiter started us off with an amuse Boucher made of pastry and various herbs that were very flavorful. Then we were served a basket of multi-grain bread, blueberry cornbread, and a small dish of honey butter, chile oil, and white bean dip. Everything was fine.

The bread was delicious. My friend was drinking a Cuba libre. He was very pleased. I had a Havana martini with fresh pineapple juice, which was delicious.

We both had the Peruvian stew, which was amazing. The broth was delicious. My only wish was for a small bowl to place the mussel shells. My friend ordered the paella while I ordered the lobster.

They top the paella with socarret (charred layer of rice), which adds crunch and, when combined with the seafood, creates a delicious flavor. The amount of seafood in the paella was incredible. My friend struggled to finish it but said it was one of the best paellas he’d ever had. It was stuffed with scallops, mussels, and lobster.

My lobster dish was a rich coconut sauce smothered in lobster. It was rich and delectable. The atmosphere was wonderful. To summarize, it was a pleasant and enjoyable experience.

The Chart Room

565 Eden St., Bar Harbor, ME 04609, United States // +12072889740

I had a fantastic lunch at The Chart Room. We went when everything downtown was insanely crowded, and we couldn’t even find a parking spot. It is right on the water and has beautiful views.

The Chart Room staff were outstanding; friendly and knowledgeable, with just the right level of participation. They worked extremely hard to ensure we were well taken care of. Everything we ate was perfectly cooked and delicious.

The lobster stew was a brilliant little appy special that was bursting with flavor; yum. I also had one of the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had. My friend ordered a whole lobster, while my wife ordered a lobster salad. They were all fantastic. The Chart Room knows how to make lobster taste delicious!

Seafood Restaurants In Bar Harbor: Whole Lobster

After we finished our meal, I asked the owner how they make their lobsters so tender. She explained the difference in lobster age as the season progressed, which I was unaware of. Of course, there’s also the fact that they were perfectly cooked in the kitchen!

Overall, I strongly recommend the Chart Room as one of the best lobster restaurants in Bar Harbor. We’ll go back the next time we’re in Bar Harbor, and I think you should too. I appreciate that they are a small, local business striving for success. Every dish they serve reflects that effort. It deserves its place amongst the best seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor.
