Work With Me Guidelines
How To Write An Article That Gets Accepted
Hi There, Fellow Foodie!
So you decided to join us on the journey to discover the best and most delicious foodie destinations around the world? Definitely not an easy task, considering you have to try so much delicious food and write about it afterward!
I’m Nathan, and my team of foodies, like Gail, Rachel, Noreen, Igor, and I, have been doing the foodie work and covering destinations for the past seven years, and we want to help you do the same.
If you love food and love to travel, then you’ve done 80% of the work to get your article accepted :).
But a few reasons why Foodie Flashpacker is successful and reaches more than 400k visitors per month is that we follow some basic guidelines when it comes to writing articles.
Let’s jump into them!
What We Look For
Follow these few guidelines and you’ll get published sooner than you think.
Quality Writing
We like relevant, well-researched posts (1500 words minimum, no maximum) covering the best restaurants in the area you’re visiting. Your post should cover a minimum of seven restaurants. If you are covering a smaller destination, we can make an exception for five restaurants.
Originality
Your post should be 100% original and unpublished. Once it’s live on our site, you can republish not more than 10% of it on your own blog or other websites and link back to the published post on our site. Just add a short disclaimer at the end to state that it first appeared on the Foodie Flashpacker blog, with a link back to the original post.
No Chains, Just Foodie Joints
Please ensure you are not writing about any national chain restaurants. Smaller/local or regional chains are great, but no large national chain restaurants.
Images Speak More Than Words
The best blog posts include images to illustrate your point. Try to avoid stock photos that don’t add any value to the copy. Please keep in mind that images are appreciated but not required. Please do not let the lack of images stop you from pitching or submitting.
Topics We Cover
Our blog aims to help travelers and locals alike to find the best restaurants to dine in; in other words, we write to ourselves :).
1: Best Restaurants in {your city} – Restaurant guides in cities, towns or neighborhoods (no counties)
2: Best Things to do in {your city} -a guide on things to do in cities, towns or neighborhoods (no counties)
