Sharing is caring!

Hey there, fellow foodie adventurers! Oh boy, do I have a treat for you today! We’re taking our palates on a sun-soaked, salt-air-infused journey to the dazzling island of Cozumel, Mexico.

This vibrant, jewel-toned locale is far more than just a scuba diver’s paradise; it’s a bonafide culinary treasure trove!

Step off the ferry, and the aromatic symphony of sizzling street tacos and fresh seafood will instantly reel you in. But it’s the beach clubs, my friends, where the real food magic happens.

Cozumel seaside

Picture this: you, on a sun-lounger, overlooking the iridescent Caribbean Sea, a frosty margarita in hand, and a plate of the most authentic, mouthwatering Mexican cuisine you’ve ever tasted. It’s not just a meal; it’s a veritable fiesta for the senses!

In this blog post, we’re going on a delicious deep-dive into Cozumel’s best beach club restaurants.

Each has its own unique flair while staying true to the vibrant, local food culture that the city is renowned for.

And, if you’re in town for diving– I have a recommendation for you. I’ve visited Cozumel multiple times and I only ever dive with one shop- Scuba Tony.

I love diving with Scuba Tony because their dive shop is fun, professional, and well-organized. They know all of the best sites and have a policy of working with a maximum of six divers per boat.

Also, if you don’t already know how to dive, they offer certification as well!

You can click here to learn more about diving in Cozumel. And if you do go, be sure to tell them I sent you! Maybe I’ll see you there.

The Eleven Best Cozumel Beach Clubs

Mr. Sanchos Beach Club

Carr. Costera Sur Km. 15, 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529871202220

To start, I’m buzzing to share about my visit to Mr. Sancho’s! If you’re in Cozumel and have a penchant for fun-filled beach days, this club is the one for you.

The moment I stepped foot onto their 1,500 feet of pristine, white sand beach, I felt like I had landed in a tropical fiesta! That’s right; Mr. Sancho’s isn’t just a beach club; it’s THE party spot of Cozumel.

While the lively atmosphere is infectious, I’m here to reassure you that this place isn’t all about party vibes. Picture me, gracefully astride a horse, exploring the coastline (okay, maybe not that graceful, but a girl can dream, right?).

Or what about the time I had my heart pounding as I zipped across the waves on a rented wave runner? If you fancy a bit of an adrenaline rush between courses, this is your place!

For the water babies among you, the beach club’s water park and not one, but TWO swim-up pool bars will have you splashing with glee.

However, if your idea of bliss is more about relaxation, don’t worry. You can find a quiet corner to sink into and soak up the gorgeous views and balmy Caribbean weather.

Sanchos Beach Club - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

Now, let’s get to the crux of the matter – the food at Mr. Sancho’s. Imagine enjoying their fabulous all-you-can-eat menu right on the beach. I’m telling you, it’s a culinary delight!

Though, a heads-up to my fellow peace lovers – if you’re not keen on crowds, Mr. Sanchos might be overwhelming. With sandy shores, two swimming pools, three bars, a plethora of dining options, and enough sunbeds for a small army, this place can get buzzing.

Getting to Mr. Sanchos, tucked far south of town, was a fun mini-adventure in itself. After a quick cab ride, I felt like I’d arrived at a tropical oasis.

The “all-inclusive” package was a winner, offering unlimited use of the club’s beaches, pools, and bar (sadly, the margarita tree I dreamed of was not included). And you’ll be in good company – it’s a hot favorite for families and cruise ship excursions alike.

Just keep in mind that some activities like snorkeling, parasailing, and ATV trips aren’t part of the “all-inclusive” deal. But hey, who needs an ATV when you’ve got unlimited margaritas, right?

There you have it, folks. The lively, the exciting, the ever-so-slightly-crazy Mr. Sancho’s Beach Club. Come for the party, stay for the food, and leave with memories you won’t forget!

Agave cocktail bar

Av. Lic. Benito Juárez Rafael E. Melgar Centro, 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529871414089

If ever there was a hidden treasure in Cozumel, it’s got to be the Agave cocktail bar. It’s tucked away so discreetly that it almost feels like you’ve discovered a secret spot.

You might even miss the only sign – a tiny neon glow at the entrance. But believe me when I say, the thrill of finding Agave is just the beginning of this enchanting adventure.

At the heart of Agave’s magic is its owner, a true alchemist who travels far and wide across Mexico, searching for the perfect Mezcals and Tequilas to grace his cocktails.

It’s not just about mixing drinks here; it’s about creating an experience, a flavorful journey that celebrates the spirit of Mexico.

Let me tell you about the welcoming bartender who kept us company, blending our cocktails with such flair and passion, it was a performance in itself.

Mezcal Negroni at Agave - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

The drinks? Absolutely top-tier! We’re talking high-quality ingredients and liquors, served at prices that’ll raise your eyebrows in a pleasant surprise.

The standout for me was the mezcal negroni, a true revelation of flavors. And if you’re in the mood for exploration, they offer mezcal tastings too.

The intoxicating lure of the cocktails convinced us to settle in for dinner, and boy, am I glad we did! The tacos were amazing, while the Cuban sandwich was a hearty delight.

But here’s the real showstopper – each cocktail at Agave is a piece of art. The meticulous attention to detail extends beyond the selection of ingredients. The presentation is equally dazzling, making every drink a visual treat.

And as for the location? Perfect for those who enjoy dining al fresco and people-watching. So if you’re in Cozumel, don’t miss this off-the-beaten-path gem. It’s a taste of Mexico you’ll remember long after you’ve left the shores.

Playa Palancar Cozumel Beach Club

San Miguel de Cozumel, Quintana Roo Playa, Calle Palancar, 77601 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529871014992

Next up, I’ve found a spot that really ups the ante. Welcome to my culinary crush – the Playa Palancar Beach Club!

Can we start by acknowledging that Playa Palancar is not just one of the best beaches in Cozumel; it’s the crème de la crème! And guess what? It’s a free-entry beach. Yep, you heard it right. Zero, zip, nada!

And there’s so much more to this beach club than just its stunning shoreline. It’s got that beach-bar-restaurant combo that’s just perfect for us food enthusiasts who love the occasional dip.

They played some really cool music, just the right volume, to keep your spirits up without drowning out your conversation.

Tacos at Playa Palancar - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

Let me recount my day at Playa Palancar. After settling down on our rented umbrella and chairs – a total steal at just $10 – my friends and I ordered drinks.

They were the kind of amazing that makes you close your eyes and hum “mmm.” Next up was food, and can I just say, WOW!

The chicken tacos and guacamole took my tastebuds straight to flavor town. Plus, the prices were so reasonable that my wallet didn’t even flinch!

One fantastic thing about this place was our dedicated server. This guy was attentive, kind, and made us feel like we were the only people on the beach. That’s service!

After a round of lip-smacking food, we decided to go for a snorkeling excursion organized right from this beach club. Only $35 each, and totally worth it! Swimming with the colorful fish and returning to the restaurant’s heavenly tastes was nothing short of epic.

So, dear readers, if you’re visiting Cozumel, Playa Palancar Beach Club in Cozumel is a must-see, must-eat, must-experience spot. And remember to try those chicken tacos! Trust me; you’ll thank me later.

Aqui + Ahora Coffee Bar

Av. Rafael E. Melgar 111, Centro, 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529878003804

Every once in a while, you stumble upon a place that sticks in your memory, a spot that feels like an instant favorite – Aqui + Ahora Coffee Bar in Cozumel is one of those places for me.

Not just a bar, it’s an experience, a space that breathes character and charm at every corner. Step inside and an irresistible vibe, a captivating blend of warmth and energy, greets you.

There’s a comfortable seating arrangement that caters to all – whether you prefer to nestle in a cozy couch corner or prefer bar top seats where you can chat with fellow patrons, they’ve got it covered.

However, the showstopper has to be the rooftop space, an incredible two-level treat. Offering a cool array of seating, a pool, ping pong, and bathrooms, it’s the perfect hangout spot.

As if that’s not enough, there’s even a third level boasting an amazing ocean view, a perimeter bar, and a coffee bar too!

Fish Tacos at Aqui - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

My go-to drink? A wonderfully unique Mezcal with Hibiscus Tea – a truly delectable combo. Let’s not forget the food – the fish tacos here are simply delicious.

And if you’re like me, you’d appreciate a place where you can also get some work done. With a fantastic view, great vibes, and air conditioning, Aqui + Ahora has it all.

As the day fades, the magical ocean view, perfectly curated music, and vibrant atmosphere make it an idyllic spot.

Add to that the friendly staff, ever ready with warm smiles and great service, and you’ve got yourself a Cozumel treasure.

Don’t miss out on this gem, whether it’s for breakfast or happy hour – their beer and coffee alcoholic drinks are a must-try.

Aqui + Ahora is a stop you’ll want to make repeatedly. Truly, an awesome spot to make some unforgettable memories!

HEMINGWAY Lounge & Nightclub Bar Cozumel beach

Casita Publica Casita, Rafael E Melgar S/N entre BLVD Aeropuerto y Playa Publica, Zona Hotelera Nte., 77610 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529871050443

If I had to pick a spot in Cozumel that has it all, a place that embodies the vibrant, laid-back island life with a splash of luxury, I’d be hard-pressed to find a better choice than Hemingway Lounge & Nightclub Bar.

It’s not just a place – an experience that promises to enchant you.

Hemingway delivers a captivating blend of stellar ambiance, groovy House music, and delicious food at prices that will have you doing a double-take.

But the real cherry on top is the direct access to Cozumel’s cleanest, clearest beach. And if you’re up for some water adventures, they even offer snorkeling and jet-skiing rentals.

There’s something magical about Hemingway that made it one of my favorite spots in Cozumel. A gorgeous waterfront restaurant, it’s bathed in the soft glow of beautiful lights that dance off the water’s surface.

Add to it the heady mix of great music and mouth-watering food and drinks, and you’ve got yourself a slice of paradise.

Cantarito Tropical Cocktail at Hemingway - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

Their cocktail menu is simply sensational, with my personal favorite being the Cantarito Tropical

It’s a sneaky little number that hides the alcohol behind its delectable taste but leaves a memorable impact. As for food, the coconut shrimp and sashimi were stars of the evening.

Hemingway’s views and ambiance take the cake. Imagine soaking in a mesmerizing sunset view with a chilled cocktail in hand and the rhythmic tunes of house music in the background.

Yes, it might be pricier than other places, but trust me, the quality and intricate decor make every penny worth it.

Hemingway Lounge & Nightclub Bar is a symphony of unique experiences, a haven where unforgettable memories are created. Simply put, it’s a must-visit when in Cozumel!

Nachi Cocom Cozumel Beach Club & Water Sport Center

Carretera a Chankanaab Km. 16.5, Carr. Costera Sur, 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529871166942

Now, we’re stepping off the beaten path and into a secluded, tropical paradise—Nachi Cocom Beach Club in Cozumel.

This full-service beach club tucked away in the heart of Cozumel is like stumbling upon your own private island.

Here’s the deal – you nab yourself a lounge chair and umbrella, and the super attentive servers are at your beck and call. Whether you’re craving an icy piña colada or a snack, they’ve got you covered.

Compared to the high-octane vibe of Mr. Sancho’s, Nachi Cocom is definitely the go-to beach bar for those of us seeking a more chilled-out day.

Don’t get me wrong; it’s not all about lounging around (unless you want it to be). Fancy a round of beach volleyball or a dip beneath the waves with some rented snorkel equipment? Go for it!

If the word “relaxation” had a physical manifestation, it would be Nachi Cocom. I found this place to be the perfect antidote to the daily grind, allowing me to truly unwind and just…be.

The thoughtful design of this place was evident, providing guests with a tranquil haven to relax in peace and quiet.

Shrimp at Nachi Cocom - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

Now, let’s talk food – the shrimp here, oh my, the shrimp! Possibly some of the best I’ve ever tasted, and trust me, I’ve tasted a lot.

Beautiful beach, amazing food, and a pool with a swim-up bar and hot tub, what more could you ask for?

One thing that really touched me was our waiter’s thoughtfulness. As we were packing up to leave, he anticipated our need and called us a taxi for us.

The ambiance here, well, it’s just perfect – enough guests to keep things interesting, but never too crowded.

Nachi Cocom isn’t just a beach club—it’s a full-fledged water sports complex with an ocean-view swimming pool, a sprawling Jacuzzi, a water sports center, and toilets. And let’s not forget the large palapa-style restaurant and the warm, helpful staff.

So if you’re seeking a place to truly escape, where the sun is warm, the sea is inviting, and the shrimp are out of this world, Nachi Cocom Cozumel Beach Club is the place to be.

Remember to leave your troubles behind, bring your appetite, and don’t forget your swimsuit!

Welcome To Miami Downtown

Av Rafael E. Melgar Calle 7 Sur y Avenida, Andrés Quintana Roo, 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529871139797

In the bustling heart of Cozumel, where big chains dominate the scene, there’s a charming spot that defies the norm and beckons you with the promise of an extraordinary treat.

That’s “Welcome To Miami Downtown,” a bar that is nothing short of a treasure trove for me.

What’s the jewel in the crown here? Without a doubt, it’s their Mojito – a magical concoction that’s hands-down the best I’ve tasted on the island.

Crafted with an authenticity that’s rare to find and a freshness that sings of the Caribbean, it’s an unforgettable experience for the senses.

And the maestro behind this masterpiece? The wonderfully talented René, who’s surely the best bartender in Cozumel.

But what makes “Welcome To Miami Downtown” a remarkable find is not just the stellar Mojito. It’s the wholehearted warmth and hospitality that envelops you as soon as you step inside.

mojito at Welcome To Miami Downtown - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

On one of my visits, while we were savoring our drinks, an employee surprised us with freshly made pico de gallo salsa and chips, along with some delicious local fruits.

What stood out for me was not just the delectable taste but the essence of Cozumel that it encapsulated – fresh, vibrant, and utterly delightful. Just like the bar itself.

So, if you’re looking for an intimate, authentic Cozumel experience away from the big chain scene, “Welcome To Miami Downtown” is where you should be headed.

Not just for the best Mojito on the island but for the friendly faces, the humble ambiance, and the promise of an unforgettable time. Trust me; you won’t be disappointed!

Del Mar Latino Beach Club Cozumel All Inclusive Day Pass

Carretera a Chankanaab km 4 Zona Hotelera, Sur, 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529878782130

Del Mar Latino Beach Club. Imagine a place where a laid-back atmosphere marries Latin Caribbean vibes. Sounds too good to be true? Just wait; it gets better!

Del Mar Latino is a cozy, intimate beach club, limiting its crowd to just 30 people per day. Picture it: an exclusive, adults-only haven where you can take a refreshing dip in an infinity pool while soaking up breathtaking views of the shimmering Caribbean Sea.

It’s a haven where the only thing bluer than the water is the margarita in your hand!

But let’s not forget why we’re here – the food. Oh, the food! My tastebuds were salsa dancing with every bite of their Mexican & Caribbean delights.

Fresh guacamole, crunchy nachos, golden tacos dorados, tangy ceviche, and let’s not forget about those ice-cold beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.

Salads at Del maR Latino - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

What I loved about this place was the small plate service – you can sample a little bit of everything! My friends and I spent the afternoon feasting on a variety of dishes, lounging in full sun, or retreating into the shade when needed.

And did I mention the infinity pool? It’s partly covered and features underwater benches, making it the perfect spot to chill out.

For the adventurers among us, the snorkeling here is nothing short of spectacular. Picture me floating above a school of about 50 large blue fish.

It was a scene straight out of a nature documentary! I strongly suggest bringing a snorkeling mask – trust me, you won’t want to miss the underwater spectacle.

I have to shout out to our waitress, who kept our drinks topped up and ensured we were well taken care of all afternoon. But here’s a little heads-up – if you’re a sandy beach lover, this might not be your spot.

This place is more about diving straight into the water for a snorkel or lounging by the oceanfront pool with a plate of tasty treats.

So for just $39.00 USD, you can indulge in the Del Mar Latino Beach Club experience. With its fantastic food, delightful drinks, and splendid setting, it truly hits all the right spots.

And remember, my friends; life is like a taco – make sure it’s filled with the good stuff!

The Money Bar Beach Club

The Money Bar Beach Club, Carr. Costera Sur Km 6.5-Sur, Zona Hotelera Nte., 77675 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529878695140

There’s a breezy charm about The Money Bar Beach Club in Cozumel that’s irresistibly captivating.

A laid-back seafront haunt boasting a terrace, this spot serves up a delicious blend of local and international dishes with a side of stunning views.

From the moment you arrive, the beach club welcomes you into its vibrant yet relaxed ambiance.

The sun loungers invite you to sit back, sip on a cool beverage, and take in the majestic ocean vista. The best part? No charge to snorkel or to enjoy a comfortable lounge chair under the welcoming shade of an umbrella.

And if you’re a snorkeling enthusiast like me, you’re in for a treat. The Dzul-Ha Reef, right in front of the beach club, offers one of the best shore snorkel experiences in Cozumel.

It’s a dream spot for underwater exploration with rich biodiversity and beginner-friendly waters. Just remember, the real spectacle lies out by the buoys!

Ceviche apetizers at the Money Bar- one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

Now, let’s talk food. Although it might not be the most authentic fare on the island, the taste, the portions, and the views make it a memorable experience.

I particularly relished the appetizer ceviche – a hearty serving that was a meal in itself. The 2-for-1 happy hour deal was the icing on the cake, along with an amazingly refreshing beer.

The beach club transforms into a vibrant party spot as the sun begins its descent, casting an orange glow over the sea.

Live music, refreshing cocktails, delicious food, and the chance to sway to the rhythm of the music or even indulge in a soothing massage – it’s the perfect recipe for an unforgettable evening.

And that view of Playa del Carmen’s lights twinkling across the Caribbean sea as the sun sets is simply mesmerizing.

The Money Bar Beach Club is more than just a bar. It’s a haven of joyous experiences – from swimming and dancing to relaxing and dining.

It’s an enchanting place to hang, to relish the day, and to celebrate the glorious Cozumel sunsets. I can’t wait to go back!

Islands Beach Club

Carretera Costera Norte Km 4.6, Zona Hotelera Nte., 77613 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529878698382

At Islands Beach Club, you’ll find relaxation and rejuvenation at every turn. As soon as I kicked back in a padded beach chair beneath the shade of waving palms, I knew I’d found a tropical paradise.

But it’s not just the lounging area that’s impressive; their spa services are heavenly. I indulged in a luxurious massage followed by an intriguing fish pedicure.

Yes, you heard it right – fish pedicure! It’s an incredible and quite ticklish experience, but my feet never felt so pampered.

Now, let’s talk about the highlights, the food and drinks. Their bar and beach club restaurant serve a wide array of icy cold beverages and mouthwatering meals.

Our waiter was a gem, ensuring we always had a drink in our hands. I mean, he had our preferred drinks flowing before we even asked! Now, that’s service!

Tacos at Islands beach club - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

I have to mention the lunch, which was purchased through Carnival. I thought the fish tacos were a real catch – they were so flavorful, I could’ve sworn they had just been caught from the Caribbean waters outside.

And with a couple of options on offer, even the pickiest eaters would be satiated.

So there you have it, my friends. Whether it’s the adrenaline rush of the zip lines, the soothing spa treatments, the delightful food and drinks, or just soaking up the gorgeous view by the poolside, the Islands Beach Club is a must-visit.

A day here is an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left the shores of Cozumel.

CocoTiki Beach Club

km 5.200, Carretera Costera Norte, Zona Hotelera Nte., 77613 San Miguel de Cozumel, Q.R., Mexico // +529875645783

Lastly, we have a place that might be small in size, but, oh boy, it’s massive in terms of flavors and fun!

CocoTiki is like a treasure chest that keeps revealing more gems as you delve deeper. Right from the get-go, depending on the package you choose, you’re in for unlimited food, an open bar, and a plethora of water activities, including kayaking, paddle boarding, and snorkeling.

And did I mention the drinks? They’re the kind of “kick-back and soak in the sun” refreshing you crave when you’re beachside.

But what truly sets CocoTiki apart is the cozy ambiance. Imagine lounging by a sparkling clean pool, sipping on delicious cocktails, with the rhythmic background score of crashing waves and playful tunes.

Oh, and beach access, comfy chairs and umbrellas, and a dedicated waiter at your service just sweeten the deal.

In case you fancy a little souvenir shopping, you’ll also find vendors selling trinkets, jewelry, cigars, and more.

Grouper at CocoTiki - one of the best Cozumel beach clubs

On my visit, I ended up ordering three coladas on a sightseeing whim, and guess what? The bartender generously gave us doubles for the same price.

And the staff, oh, their warm smiles and friendly demeanor just added to the whole experience.

But the cherry on the top of this tropical sundae was undoubtedly the food. We ordered a grouper with fries on a spontaneous “Oh, what the heck!” moment.

And let me tell you; it was a revelation! Fresh, succulent, and full of flavor, it was a mouthwatering masterpiece.

So there you have it – CocoTiki Beach Club, a slice of Cozumel paradise, brimming with fantastic drinks, fresh food, and a cheerful, welcoming vibe.
