The menu is impressively extensive, featuring a delectable assortment of burgers, mac and cheese, hot dogs, and potatoes and a selection of salads for those seeking healthier options.

I cannot rave enough about their Buffalo boneless Mac & Cheese – it was heavenly! Each mouthful was an explosion of flavor, and the generous portion size left me more than satisfied.

El Gaucho de Monterrey

Arroyo Seco 100, Arroyo Seco, 64740 Monterrey, N.L., Mexico // +528183584218

El Gaucho de Monterrey, a restaurant that’s been a beloved staple in the city for years. If you’re MTY, trust me, you must try it!

Upon my visit to El Gaucho, I discovered that this fantastic eatery never ceases to impress. I started my meal with the house avocado salad (pro tip: the small size easily serves four) and the ever-delicious beef empanadas

For those who enjoy a little kick, I highly recommend the piquín and lime salsa – it’s a game-changer!

Now, a word of caution for meat lovers: El Gaucho’s beef orders are enormous, easily feeding up to six people.

So come hungry or be prepared to share! In terms of libations, their mixology program rivals any high-end establishment, though I would love to see a more comprehensive selection of Mexican wines, particularly from Baja California.

When dining at El Gaucho, be sure to request Sigifredo as your server – he’s a seasoned pro who goes above and beyond to cater to your every need.
