8 Amazing Chinese Restaurants in Bellevue

Peony Kitchen Bellevue

10317 Main St. # 100, Bellevue, WA 98004, United States // +14254706593

Peony Kitchen is a restaurant that delivers a fresh take on Chinese cuisine in a dynamic and stylish ambiance. Shanghai was regarded as the Paris of the East in the 1930s and served as the focus of any artistic avant-garde.

The idea of a Peony is a tribute to that time. The name of the restaurant itself can be read as either the name of a female lounge diva or the national flower of China. It has a beautiful and warm interior, an abundance of brown shades, and an industrial vibe to it.

Starting off with their appetizers, the Peony’s egg rolls are house-made egg rolls with prawns and cabbage that make a great option to begin with. Then their Cold Tossed Noodles which are made with garlic, bean paste, soy sauce, ginger, cilantro, cucumber, and chili oil, is a great starter for those who like spicy stuff.

If you like a nice, warm soup – try their small hot and sour soup with Shiitake mushrooms, Enoki mushrooms, bamboo shoots, wood-ear mushrooms, green onions, silken tofu, shallots, eggs, and crispy rice. They also have an amazing Wonton Soup.

For main courses, consider the Mu Shu Taco Chicken, which consists of three tacos filled with dry-braised shredded chicken, cabbage, red onions, and bean sprouts, all wrapped up in beautiful flour tortillas. For the vegetarians they have Mushroom Lettuce Cups that come with diced Shitake mushrooms, corn, chopped celery, and crispy rice and are served with a special sauce and some butter lettuce.

Their salads are amazingly refreshing; one of them is called Cucumber Salad. The highlight ingredient in this one, as you can guess, is cucumber, and it also has some hot chili oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, green onions, garlic, carrots, wood-ear mushroom, cilantro, salt, and white paper.

Their dumplings and shrimp shumai are also great options. Spicy Wontons, chicken buns, sticky rice, and pan-fried pork buns are also available in their extensive menu. Tea Smoked Chicken, infused with tea leaves and roasted until perfectly crispy, is one of their highlight dishes here.

Garlic Crispy Chicken is another great option that is made of breaded and fried chicken breast, tossed in a sweet and tangy sauce, and then topped with crispy garlic flakes and green onions. Incredibly crisp and delicious.

Crispy Duck, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Mongolian Chicken, Orange Chicken, and many more items are among the ones available here. They also have menu sections focused on pork, beef, and seafood, and all of them are amazing in their own ways. All you have to do is look up and choose your preference; there is something incredible for each taste!  Certainly one of the must-try Chinese restaurants in Bellevue.
