The friendly, super-informative waiter was there in an instant, ready with his top picks from their tempting menu.
My friend settled on the rib dinner with creamy mac & cheese and delicious potato salad, while I, in a fit of foodie indecisiveness, went for the combo – a hearty slice of brisket, peppered smoked sausage, another serving of that irresistible mac & cheese, and some seared green beans on the side. Yum!
The dry rub on the brisket and ribs was an explosion of peppery, hickory goodness. It had that tender, melt-in-your-mouth quality that’s the stuff of BBQ dreams.
The smoked sausage was decent, a tad dry, but peppered to perfection. The house-made potato salad, though? A star. And the seared green beans? Delish!
We couldn’t leave without trying dessert, right? So the chocolate chip bread pudding with white chocolate and the glaze was the sweet, decadent grand finale.
It was like a little slice of heaven on a plate, not too overpowering, just the right amount of sweetness to round off the meal.

Jo-Bawb’s BBQ
7921 Northside Dr., Oklahoma City, OK 73132, United States // +14054790187
Next up is Jo-Bawb’s BBQ, a charming spot that’s won my heart (and stomach) with some of the best BBQ I’ve had in the metro. For those who enjoy eating outside, they even have this charming space with picnic tables.
For my first foray into their menu, I went all in – ribs, jalapeño sausage, pork sandwich, and all four sides.
The ribs and mac and cheese were standout winners. The mac and cheese was comfort food at its finest, and the meat was tender. The jalapeño sausage was decent, but I reckon I’ll venture into another choice next time.
Now let’s talk sides! The potato salad was chunky and incredibly satisfying. Beans? Oh, they were solid, boasting a delicious smoky flavor. The crisp and fresh coleslaw could use a little extra zing, but it has potential.

I'm kind of shocked that Kings BBQ is not on this list. I use to travel from OKC to Dallas to get really good BBQ because often the Brisket taste like pot roast. After going to Kings BBQ I do not need to travel 3 hours to get my BBQ fix. Kings BBQ is the Mic Drop...when it comes to BBQ so much flavor and juiciness and when you slightly pull it off it does not tug it is so tender.
