Sharing is caring!

Atlanta’s food scene is well-known for various things, including prison tacos, strip club wings, local brewers, and great burgers.

However, Atlanta offers an impressive and growing collection of vegan and vegetarian restaurants.

This list of vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Atlanta contains options ranging from Chinese, Mexican, and Indian cuisine to raw food kitchens and even a vegan pizzeria.

Vegan Restaurants In Atlanta: Atlanta

It’s helpful to have personal recommendations, whether you’re a vegetarian, vegan, or simply looking for plant-based dining options. That is why I have compiled a list of the top ten vegan restaurants in Atlanta, GA.

The 11 Best Vegan Restaurants In Atlanta

Tassili’s Raw Reality Café

1059 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30310, United States // +14043436126

This raw vegan cafe is led by “master raw food alchemist” Tassili Ma’at, who holds fast to seven key principles: truth, justice, harmony, balance, order, reciprocity, and decency. Tassili Ma’at originally intended to claim Atlanta’s best kale title years ago.

The restaurant’s menu is rather comprehensive and includes delectable dishes like sweet coconut corn, Moroccan couscous, spicy “popolicious” herbal popcorn, curried plantains, and seasonally-available raw soups and wraps with names like “Punany” spinach and kale and “Climax” brownie.

Tassili's Raw Reality Café Couscous

This restaurant was great for me as a general food enthusiast. We placed almost everything on two plates we had ordered from the menu and continued eating until we were delighted. Nearly everything had fantastic flavor.

I expected to leave Atlanta with tales of grits, beans, and BBQ pork. Of course, I had all of those, but the meal I had at Tassili’s is the one that I still think about. Fantastic vegan food in Atlanta.

Herban Fix

565 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30308, United States // +14048158787

This Midtown vegan restaurant offers a variety of Asian-inspired cuisine. Like the glazed crispy king oyster mushroom, many vegan lunch and supper options are also gluten-free.

While vegetarian restaurants frequently go into the hippie-dippie granola category, Herban Fix stays slick and seductive, with a nice lounge area and unique events.

Try the pan-seared scallion pancakes with curry dipping sauce, the stir-fry soy chicken in citrus sauce, or the wild truffle rice topped with sautéed mushrooms for lunch or dinner.

Our server was knowledgeable, polite, and efficient. We especially liked the appetizer of vegetable spring rolls served cut lengthwise. They were light and filled with vegetables.

Next, we tasted the crispy purple yam cakes. The fried eggplant covered with veggie chutney, on the other hand, was the meal’s star.

Herban Fix Fried Rggplant

It was the first time I had eaten eggplant that wasn’t battered and topped with cheese. We had chocolate cake with whipped icing for dessert. What’s not to appreciate about this place?

Soul Vegetarian Restaurant

879 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310, United States // +14047525194

Soul Vegetarian has been a West End institution for many years. An Atlanta chapter of the African Hebrew Israelite Community of Jerusalem runs the vegan soul food restaurant.

They serve classic Jerusalem rice platters and Southern comfort meals like BBQ tofu and onion rings. Currently, the North Highland location is only open for takeout.

The vegetarian options we ordered were fantastic, including mac and cheese, greens, cornbread, pasta, and squashes, all served with the most amazing vegan gravy I’ve ever eaten.

Soul Vegetarian Restaurant Vegan Mac and Cheese

The service was not particularly slow; rather, the people who work there have a laid-back mentality that is cool and quiet – at ease.

The workers were all dressed in wonderful cultural white costumes with matching head wraps, the establishment was artistically constructed, and the vegan treats were delicious. Their menu does not consist entirely of soy, as several vegan restaurants do. Nevertheless, it is an absolute must-try when looking for vegetarian food in Atlanta!

Healthful Essence

875 York Ave. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310, United States // +14048060830

By incorporating Caribbean tastes into the food provided at Healthful Essence, the restaurant has gone above and beyond with its vegan and vegetarian menu. No wonder it tops any vegan restaurants In Atlanta lists.

You may anticipate jerk spiced vegan and vegetarian dishes created with beans, lentils, and veggies.

You may be used to hearing islanders from the West Indies and the Caribbean argue in favor of goat, oxtails, and different stewed or grilled kinds of poultry, and they have every right to do so since those foods are exceptional.

Even so, it shouldn’t be a surprise that a restaurant in the vegan-friendly West End serves barbecue sauce and tofu cutlets or fake “un” versions of salmon, chicken, goat, and more, since tropical locations have a lot of healthful cuisines.

The three-squash stew was flavorful and well-seasoned. The un-fish fritter had a fantastic flavor, and the collard greens were also tasty.

Healthful Essence Fritter

The cornbread, which I refer to as a sweet potato sweet bread and which, in my opinion, is really a dessert, was my favorite. I was fortunate enough to come before eight other customers, so service was quick.

Not to mention organic rice and peas, vegan Jamaican patties, fresh juices, and smoothies to keep it even more authentic.

True Food Kitchen

3393 Peachtree Rd. NE Ste 3058B, Atlanta, GA 30326, United States // +14044812980

True Food Kitchen in Buckhead offers vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian, and gluten-free options for individuals on an “anti-inflammatory diet.”

Menus for beverages and food are seasonal and frequently include organic and regional ingredients. There is a location there as well.

We decided to eat the outstanding edamame dumplings. My friend ordered the chicken sausage pizza, while I opted for the seasonal Brussels sprout salad. Both were top-notch. Our server provided excellent recommendations.

True Food Kitchen Brussels Sprout Salad

My friend ordered a beet juice-based specialty cocktail, which she thoroughly appreciated. Even if you dislike edamame, I urge you to try the edamame dumplings. I urge you to visit this place! It’s one of the best vegan restaurants In Atlanta!

Dulce Vegan Bakery & Cafe

1994 Hosea L. Williams Dr. NE, Atlanta, GA 30317,  United States // +14046247417

Dulce Vegan is perfect for vegans and vegetarians with a serious sweet tooth. This charming Kirkwood cafe serves breakfast pastries, fresh sandwiches, and nutritious sides like tabbouleh and house-made soups on a changing, seasonal menu.

This is the place to go for vegan cakes in unique flavors like lemon raspberry, Mexican chocolate, and orange cardamom.

The chocolate lavender scone at the Dulce Vegan Bakery is the best item, in my opinion. Exceptionally well-balanced and non-overpowering lavender flavor.

Another excellent recommendation is their chocolate hazelnut scone. The ideal sweetness, fantastic tastes, and perfect texture. The cinnamon rolls are also a must-try; they’re among the greatest I’ve ever had.

The red velvet cupcake is also very delicious! The very best vegan cupcake! Anything you choose from here will be a success!

SluttyVegan ATL

1542 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310, United States // +18554397588

It is impossible to emphasize how popular Slutty Vegan has become amongst the vegan restaurants In Atlanta. To fulfill requests for provocatively titled meatless burgers like the One Night Stand and Ménage à Trois, owner Pinky Cole started the vegan burger company in 2018 as a delivery service.

She gained a sizable following very fast, resulting in a food truck and late-night pop-ups near Atlanta University Center.

Cole now operates four restaurants in Atlanta’s Westview, Old Fourth Ward, Duluth, and Jonesboro neighborhoods. She also owns Bar Vegan at Ponce City Market.

Don’t be frightened by the crowd in front! It moves quickly, and before you know it, you’re inside placing your order! I ordered a “One Night Stand,” a vegan version of the Bacon Cheeseburger.

The vegetarian patty was delicious, the “bacon” was crunchy, and the sauce was amazing. I was full after eating the burger, which was also a decent size. And the fries were fantastic with whatever flavor they used. Definitely worth the visit!

Grass VBQ Joint

777 Oak St. SW, Atlanta, GA 30310, United States // +14703103656

The Grass VBQ Joint, owned by Terry Sargent, offers vegan renditions of traditional Southern barbecue fare such as smoked jerk wings, brisket, pulled jackfruit sandwiches, a Reuben with corned beef, and oyster mushroom po’boys. This is one of the more unique vegan restaurants In Atlanta.

Chef Terry Sargent provided the Eastside with a mouthwatering, regionally sourced vegan barbecue at Grass VBQ Joint for a long time before being selected as Southern Living’s Chef of the Year.

You’ll notice the difference when you bite into one of their burgers because they produce their own mock meats in-house and then cold smoke them for five hours.

The mac and cheese and the lemon pepper wings I ordered were delicious and flavorful. I could tell that they were created with love. So worth it.

Also, the customer service was excellent; they always try to suit your demands while offering courteous service.

Plant Based Pizzeria

730 Barnett St. NE, Atlanta, GA 30306, United States // +14048352739

Plant-Based Pizzeria on Barnett Street, just off Ponce de Leon Avenue, bills itself as “Atlanta’s first vegan pizzeria.” It serves everything from vegan calzones to “meat” lovers and Hawaiian pizzas.

All of Plant Based’s pizza crusts and calzones are made with spelt flour, and a gluten-free crust is available upon request.

The menu includes raw vegan pizzas, burgers and sandwiches, and vegan desserts. In addition, Sandy Springs now has a second full-service restaurant.

Plant Based Pizzeria Vegan Pizza

This was some of the most fantastic pizza I’ve ever tasted, including all of the non-vegan options. The crust was tasty (I believe they use herbs in it) and kept its shape.

The sauce toppings and cheese proportions are ideal. I nearly didn’t notice that I was not eating actual cheese. They also serve a wide range of pizzas, from the most basic to the most inventive.

The Georgia Peach was my favorite, with peaches, sausage, and jalapenos for a well-balanced mix of flavors that never gets old.

Beyond sausage is used for their “meats,” and when crisped up the way they do, it produces a really tasty and believable sausage alternative. A must-visit gem amongst the vegan restaurants In Atlanta!

Hippie Hibachi

1235 Chattahoochee Ave. NW STE. 130, Atlanta, GA 30318, United States // +14704947361

Before 2021, you probably never heard the words “vegan” and “hibachi” combined, but due to Hippie Hibachi, wonderful plant-based Japanese food is now available at Chattahoochee Food Works.

Hippie Hibachi has been introducing vegan hibachi to Atlantans. Plant-based proteins (teriyaki chick’n, shr’mp, Impossible beef, tofu), hibachi-style vegetables, and fried rice have so far won them over.

I love hibachi, so I was eager to try it! All plates begin with fried rice and hibachi vegetables (zucchini, onions, carrots, and broccoli), which are then topped with sesame seeds, red cabbage, and green onions. You have the option of using one or two teriyaki plant proteins.

I ordered mushrooms and impossible meat. Everything is made fresh to order and in fair servings!  I asked for the yum yum sauce drizzled on the side but ended up pouring it on because the flavor was on the spot to the non-vegan version. My food was packaged in environmentally friendly packaging.

Hands down, one of the best vegan restaurants In Atlanta for anyone who likes vegan, gluten-free, or simply like fresh, clean food!

Cafe Sunflower Buckhead

2140 Peachtree Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30309, United States // +14043528859

Suppose you are vegan and looking to experience one of the best vegetarian cuisines in Atlanta. In that case, this relaxed locale offers a global vegetarian menu, including organic dishes and gluten-free options.

They offer truly exceptional food with even better quality customer service. The specials never disappoint, and the Pineapple refresher is a must for me every time I go. I have taken some of my highly non-vegan family members to eat here, and they were all blown away.

For entrees, we ordered white fettuccini Alfredo (gluten-free); this was delicious and in good quantity for two. For dessert, We ordered Raspberry chocolate mousse cake, which became my favorite dessert.

Other interesting things on their menu are light and crispy spring rolls, avocado tacos, artichoke & spinach dip, vegan quesadillas, classic caesar salad with soy meat instead of chicken, gyro wrap, and many more original dishes.
