The 5 Best Bars In Helen GA

Bigg Daddys Restaurant & Tavern

807 Edelweiss Strasse, Helen, GA 30545, United States // +17068782739

Bigg Daddy’s is a fantastic choice for anyone wishing to eat where the locals frequent, even though it is not a German restaurant like the more popular spots in Helen. It was still busy when we went on a Thursday night during the off-season.

There was an event that featured live music! The musician who was singing and playing an acoustic guitar was amazing. He could play the riffs in the songs like a pro and had a beautiful voice.

It was amazing to drink their draft beer. The best part is that you can keep the amazing-looking mug if you ask for a 32-ounce beer!

Unexpectedly, their fish and chips, which I had, was also excellent. In conclusion, follow the locals if you’re searching for a lively, welcoming, and tasty dining spot in Helen that doesn’t feel overly touristy. Go to Bigg Daddy’s right away. Oh, and it only cost roughly $50 for two dinners and three draft beers.

The Troll Tavern

8590 N. Main St, Helen, GA 30545, United States // +17068783117

The Troll Tavern, located in Helen, Georgia, is a charming restaurant and pub with riverside seating near the Chattahoochee River.

When you go in the door, you’ll be greeted by a group of locals playing pool and drinking beer. The Troll Tavern has been serving Helen, GA, for over two decades, and owner Debi Huffman has watched people move to the region and return after serving in the military.

The Chattahoochee River is one of the reasons this little slice of Helen, GA is so popular – take a stroll down to the outdoor patio and watch rafters float down the river.

There’s nothing better than drinking a refreshing beer alongside a river. They had an immersive list of craft beers! It took us a while to decide but once we did we got the Hofbrau Hefe-Dunkel, Stella Artois and Furstenburg. All of them had an authentic taste and were definitely worth the price!

The Troll Tavern also provides American and German cuisine, including classics such as Chicken Fried Steak, BBQ Pork Ribs, and Bratwurst with Sauerkraut. There are also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free alternatives. Wonderful food and beer choices and great staff made our stop at Big Daddy’s one to remember!

Two Tire Tavern

8735 N. Main St., Helen, GA 30545, United States // +17068781002

Two Tire Tavern has a rustic dining room with a full bar and a dog-friendly balcony, where American and German comfort meals are provided. In Helen, Georgia, Two Tire Tavern is the best location to eat, drink, and hang out. You’ll fall in love with this rustic diner, which has lots of parking.

You’ll like the mood as you approach a wide wooden door that opens into a spacious dining area. You’ll notice the unusual design when you enter, such as rusty tires supporting chandeliers and chairs made from antique church pews.

The bar at Two Tire Tavern is packed to the brim with great beer from big-name brands to tiny craft breweries, not to mention over twenty full bottles of liquor!

I selected a draft German beer that came in a 32-ounce souvenir mug. We split the Crockpot Potato Soup and Krainerwurst Platter, which also included sauerkraut, German potato salad, and a pretzel roll because we were also a little hungry. Both the beer and the food had incredible flavor!

Our server was quick and friendly. We had such a wonderful time that we will undoubtedly come back on our subsequent trip!

Their menu featured everything from grilled or crispy wings to steaks, delicious seafood, burgers, sandwiches, and some of the best-looking fried chicken in the area.

However, because we weren’t hungry and just needed a break from our tour of the area,  we got great mimosas and savored the calming ambiance on their patio.
