The motto of Webster, NY is “Where Life is Worth Living.” Webster was first discovered in 1669. A French explorer entered Irondequoit Bay, the land of the Seneca Indians, to explore Lake Ontario and look for inland waterways.

Presently, you will discover boating, hiking trails, and parks such as the Veterans Memorial Park with a monument that honors Veterans and a Gazebo and Village Clock, which are all adorned with attractive and fragrant gardens. Harmony Park is filled with harmonious sounds during summer band concerts. There is plenty of shopping and good food, too!

7 Best Restaurants in Webster, New York

Nutcracker Family Restaurant

2159 Empire Blvd, Webster, NY // +15856714353

Get cozy at the Nutcracker Family Restaurant with a bowl of homemade soup. Their love of food creates a gratifying experience making this one of the coziest restaurants in Webster New York.

This longstanding building offers a casual atmosphere where you can crack a joke while they are cracking eggs in the kitchen. Breakfast is available all day. Order some sizzle and get the Steak and Eggs served with home fries and toast. Steak any time of day works for me. Eggs Benedict or Country Fried Steak Eggs & Potatoes with Sausage Gravy will satisfy your hunger. Traditional versions of omelets and pancakes are also included on the menu.

Nutcracker Family Restaurant: Hommade Soup

Three different kinds of homemade soups are served daily. Soup and salad go well together. The Nutcracker Special Salad is made with crisp greens topped with fresh broiled chicken breast, Swiss cheese, green peppers, cucumber, tomatoes, onions, and your choice of dressing. Salads are served with pita bread.

If you would rather have soup and a sandwich, The Nutcracker sandwich is marinated chicken breast topped with ham, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese, and garlic mayo. When in New York, order the New Yorker sandwich with roast beef, Swiss cheese, sauteed onions, and sliced tomatoes, served with a side of Russian dressing. This one is my favorite.

A delectable dinner option is a Steak and Seafood combo with sirloin steak, scallops, half of a fried fish, and shrimp. Are you in the mood for a BBQ? The St. Louis Rib is marinated then slowly roasted and brushed with hickory-smoked BBQ sauce. The locals like to get their Fish Fry or a juicy charbroiled steak.

What would you like for dessert? Rice pudding, pie, cheesecake, a dish of ice cream? I shared a sampling of choices for each meal. There are many more on the menu.

The Peppered Pig

1759 Empire Blvd, Webster, NY 14580 //+15853476479

The Peppered Pig is a French American Bistro. The atmosphere is filled with Paris as French music plays, the artwork is hung on the walls, and the tables are set just so.

The flavors are superb on the Braised Pork Belly with chipotle carrot BBQ, nuoc cham radishes & carrots, and crispy shallots. The Beet Salad is a blend of field greens, roasted beets, walnuts, blue cheese, and lemon vinaigrette. You can add grilled chicken, steak, or shredded duck. I am a fan of beets, are you? They are good for you.

The Peppered Pig: Quiche Lorraine

They are known for their Quiche Lorraine with bacon, onion, and white cheddar served with a petite house salad. The Pig Burger is popular. It is a beef patty, seared in duck fat, tarragon aioli, bacon, brie, field mix, and tomato jam, on sourdough. The burger with Frites, which are homemade French fries is a tasty pairing. The waiter told us a little boy said that from all restaurants in Webster, New York—the French Fries there were better than McDonald’s. Now that’s saying something.

For dessert, this is one of the best restaurants in Webster, New York that makes exellent deCrème Brulee or Bread Pudding.

Village Bakery & Café

Here they use fresh, local ingredients, no nitrates, and no antibiotics. Smell the fresh baked bread and pastries when you walk through the door. Not only will you place your order, but it may also leave you wanting more. Eat in or get it to go.

Get to the Village Bakery & Café early if you want their scrumptious Cinnamon Roll with cream cheese icing. They are a hot item.

Village Bakery & Café: Cinnamon Roll

Breakfast, bacon, buttermilk, or blueberry pancakes are a few breakfast plates. Other AM Provisions include an Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich, Overnight Oats, and Smoothies. A homemade muffin and a hot cup of coffee will do me just fine.

Lunch provisions to choose from are salads with dressing made in-house. Quiche and sandwiches are also available. I opted for the Steak & Cheese sandwich and a cup of soup. The homemade soups are available at 11 am and they close at 3 pm, so it’s wise to go early or call ahead.

Jo Jo Bistro & Wine Bar

A classic dish is the JoJo Classic Cajun Chicken, pan-seared Cajun spiced chicken breast with citrus beurre Blanc.

Jo Jo Bistro & Wine Bar: Mussles Frites

Favorite main dishes are Ricotta Gnocchi with Italian sausage and fresh spinach in marinara sauce topped with basil and pecorino Romano. JoJo’s fished these out of the sea and onto your plate, Mussels Frites. You get two pounds of mussels steamed in shallot and white wine butter sauce served with JoJo fries. Another great catch is the Salmon, pan-seared sauteed with wild rice and brussels sprout, butternut squash puree, maple-soy glaze, and walnuts.

There is a variety of wood-fired pizzas and appetizers, too. Whatever you choose, you are sure to have a lovely evening at JoJo Bistro & Wine Bar.

Rhino’s Pizzeria

85 Donovan Street, Webster, NY 14580 //+15858723150

Rhino’s Pizzeria is a big “dill” because they are famous for their Dill Pickle Pizza with homemade garlic sauce. The traditional pizzas are so good, but their specialty pizzas are a real treat.

The NY Style is a thin crust with cup and char pepperoni. The cup pepperoni is the best. Try this American favorite, the Red, White & Blue. It has a garlic and blue cheese mixture topped with mozzarella cheese and red onions and drizzled with a balsamic glaze.

Rhino’s Pizzeria: Fish Fry

If none of those pizzas tickle your taste buds, look at the salads, calzones, Fish Fry, and chicken wings. You could create your own smorgasbord and order a few different dishes. It’s always fun bringing someone with you to share and try each other’s food.

Customers go wild over the chicken wings. I mentioned their specialty pizzas, and they also have a wide variety of specialty subs and wraps. A fried dough or a chocolate chip cookie completes this foodie experience.

Pub 235

235 North Avenue, Webster, NY 14580 //+15852161750

Beer and Bavarian Pretzels are popular fare at this quaint Pub 235. Get tropical and order a Bikini Tini made with orange vodka, coconut rum, pineapple juice, and a splash of grenadine. Maybe you want to spice it up and get a Bloody Maria with cucumber jalapeno tequila and housemade Bloody Mary mix.

Look at these Chicken Wing choices, mild, medium, hot, Guinness BBQ, sweet and sour, Caribbean jerk, Chipotle, spicy Asian, Cajun, honey Cajun, XXX Reaper, or Garlic Parmesan. Feel the heat or opt for sweet.

Soup and Salad include Seafood Bisque, French Onion, or the Soup of the Day. My preferred salad option is The Harvest with fresh greens, apples, dried cranberries, candied walnuts, and crumbly blue with balsamic vinaigrette.

Pub 235: Seafood Bisque

Signature sandwiches, burgers, and brick oven pizza are offerings on the menu. The featured brick oven pizza is The Bugsy Malone with meatballs, Italian sausage, pepperoni, fresh basil, red sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
