The 6 Best Glendale Restaurants
Haus Murphy’s
5739 W Glendale Ave, Glendale // +16239392480
Haus Murphy’s is a German restaurant in Glendale, Arizona that celebrates the qualities of excellent hospitality and delicious cuisine from one of the most influential countries in Europe. This friendly restaurant promises excellent German food, beer, and festivities and transports you to Berlin without crossing the Atlantic.
In terms of cuisine, Haus Murphy’s keeps it traditional, with many pork and beef wursts, including currywurst.
And in all its glory, schnitzels and meatballs, potato pancakes and kugel, sauerkraut, no other country has influenced America’s culinary landscape quite like Germany.
Haus Murphy’s operates Thursday through Saturday and specializes in one thing and does it remarkably, German food and beer. Make sure you pop in hungry for their Giant Bavarian Pretzel.
Arrowhead Grill
8280 W Union Hills Dr, Glendale // +16235662224
The Arrowhead Grill is one of the most popular Glendale restaurants. But it’s not just the rich menu featuring succulent steaks, juicy seafood, and tender chicken that keeps people coming back again and again. The gorgeous setting in an intimate atmosphere is what makes this restaurant so popular.
For years, the restaurant has won over customers with its outstanding dishes and fantastic prices only a few minutes from Arrowhead Towne Center and Westgate Entertainment District.
Those in a mood for seafood can find plenty of tempting options, including lobster and salmon. But this restaurant is the hot spot for any true carnivore. To experience the fame of this award-winning steakhouse, simply try a certified USDA Prime Black Angus cut or a Tuscan steak. Here you’ll taste meat that’s unlike anything you’ve ever had before.
With a five-year streak of winning the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence and often being referred to as the meeting place for the heads of state and celebrities, The Arrowhead Grill serves up inventive and contemporary American cuisine in a spectacular environment.
From its vibrant hues to its contemporary take on American classics and cleverly crafted cocktails at the Lounge Bar, this sophisticated hotel restaurant in Glendale, Arizona, is the place to be in Glendale for an unforgettable experience.
Little Saigon Restaurant
7016 N 57th Ave, Glendale // +16239396136
As a reflection of how closely it resembles Vietnam, Little Saigon Cafe got its name from the neighborhood where it’s located, the largest Vietnamese community outside of Vietnam.
It first caught my eye with the beautiful courtyard, white-fenced entrance, and charming outdoor decor. The menu is extensive. There are enough unique items to pique my interest, and being one of Glendale’s best-reviewed Vietnamese restaurants on Yelp, it’s not out of the ordinary for someone to want to visit Little Saigon.
I started with appetizers consisting of fresh shrimp-stuffed spring rolls. They were delicious and cooked perfectly, not greasy or soggy as often as some can be. The shrimps were hot and fresh, and the basil gave it a delightfully mild but flavorful punch.
The sauce that accompanied it was tasty and not too overpowering to detract from the taste of the shrimp and veggies.
Little Saigon is hard to miss. But if you’re anything like me, your taste buds are what will bring you back again and again as this Vietnamese joint did.
Kiss the Cook Restaurant
4915 W Glendale Ave, Glendale // +16239394663
Kiss the Cook is a family-owned bakery and pie shop with a history of serving Glendale’s people since 1982. They aim to provide customers with homemade goodies using baking techniques passed down through generations.
This focus on quality food is why Kiss the Cook dishes out meals cooked by their highly skilled chefs in an open kitchen so guests can see exactly what they’re getting.
If you are tired of the same old breakfast, lunch, and dinner options, you should stop by for Kiss The Cook’s famous breakfasts and brunches and enjoy syrupy pancakes and fluffy omelets as well as corned beef hash and succulent breakfast meats in gravy.
If you’re searching for delicious brunches, signature sandwiches, or homemade pies with a heaping side order of southern hospitality, note the name Kiss the Cook for your next meal.
The Spicery
7141 N 59th Ave, Glendale // +16239376534
Nestled in one of Glendale’s oldest buildings, originally built in 1895, the house belonged to successive families until 1987. Martha Campbell then bought the building and renovated it into a successful restaurant.
Matt Borowski owns and operates the Spicery and promises an array of dishes from traditional pastries, sandwiches, and soups to bigger plates for sharing.
In addition, the restaurant offers a sterling afternoon tea, consisting of a three-course meal complete with a variety of bite-sized sweets, from brownies to lemon bars.
In addition to setting the stage for quality and relaxation, the Spicery offers an extra special treat for an afternoon treat.
Cucina Tagliani
17045 N 59th Ave #101, Glendale // +16025472782
When you first hear Cucina Tagliani’s name, you might wonder if this restaurant is an Italian chain. But, on the contrary, this is a unique establishment that provides the finest Italian dining in the state. The eatery specializes in pizza and tasty sandwiches.
It has a small lunchtime menu to quickly provide delicious homemade food for customers on the run and those who want to pick up a meal for later.
With a hospitable and friendly staff, Cucina Tagliani can cater to all tastes and dietary requirements. The contemporary décor features an open kitchen for greater customer interaction with the chefs. Tablecloths and candles highlight the dining area, with comfortable booth seating.
Cucina Tagliani serves a selection of traditional pizzas and Italian sandwiches for dining in and taking away, including specialties such as spicy sausage, Mediterranean-inspired toppings, and a giant stromboli, perfect for sharing.
If you are looking for the delicate flavor of Italy, choose the strawberry and goat’s cheese salad with toasted almonds, finishing off with a slice of chocolate mascarpone cake.
It is a family-owned business that offers a takeaway option so you can enjoy the food on your own time. Another great thing is that you can be creative with your pizza here and choose toppings from around the world!

I wanted to tell you about a real gem in Glendale, Arizona called the Mac Shack!!! It opened about a year ago and I owned and operated by a CIA graduate turned pasta maker, Craig Winkler!! Mr. Winkler lost his job as the Director of Food Services for a Network of Arizona’s top hospitals during the pandemic due to hospital lay off’s. He was first furloughed and had not be “jobless” for the past 40 years was quite bored!!! His dream of opening his own place and getting back into the kitchen came to fruition!! Mr. Winkler wanted to open something that would be successful but also have his own authentic twist!!! The Mac Shack concept was born!! Mac and cheese seems pretty easy and not exactly a culinary challenge , until he decided to learn how to make his own pasta!!! After months of trial , error and a whole lot of flour, he finally perfected the recipe!!! The Doc House Mac with cheese, caramelized onions and yes DORITO crumbs is out of this world!!! The Northeaster Mac, a nod to Craig’s home in upstate NY combines lobster, gouda and gruyere cheese for a tantalizing , comfort yet sophisticated blend of the beat Mac and Cheese I have ever tasted!!!! This is a family owned and operated restaurant with Dad running both front and back of the house while his three children help with the cooking, cleaning, waiting ect…. This is one place you don’t want to miss!!! Please check them out the next time you are in the area!!!
Sincerely Jessica Fantasia
