Grapevine lake flattens over about 8,000 acres. So if you strongly believe in “The Aquaman,” here is the territory to prove your legacy. 

At Grapevine Lake, be engulfed with multiple recreation activities, including boating, surfing, swimming, kayaking, and fishing. So get on Grapevine Lake, bike, hike, or camp at the waterfront if you love adventures. You can find boats and rental gear near the harbor from the store line present at the location.

To enjoy the lake, take a yacht or sailboat and witness one of the best sunsets.

Are you tired of the adventures and need rest? There are multiple restrooms, sitting areas, and benches near the playground and the picnic spot to fuel up your energy before heading back to the lake. 

The Grapevine Lake presents many glorious parks and gardens positioned at the coast. Hiking them all, we spent time at every park to enjoy nature, trees, lake views, various wildflower species, etc. 

Lakeview Park is a beautiful landscape fenced with trees, plants, flowers, and greenery all around. It’s an excellent spot for family picnics with restrooms, a beach area, gazebo-like shade, kids slides, etc. 

The next park we visited was McPherson Slough Park. It’s less crowded and offers a wooden deck right above the lake. 

Oak Grove Park: This park is perfect for accessing boats. This 40-acre expansive park is famous for hamburgers in Grapevine. You can rent kayaks, jet skis, and cruises on this lake for a great party in the town. 

Sea Life Aquarium

Dive into the middle of the aquatic life without getting wet! Yes, it is possible! Spread over 45000 sq ft, Sea Life Aquarium in Grapevine is the only 360° Ocean tunnel in Texas. Here, you can find many different fish species, aquatic creatures, and an ocean voyage. 

Home to multiple rescued sea creatures, you will come across many saltwater and freshwater aquatic fauna like stingrays, jellyfish, sea turtle, Flashlight fish, and even maybe Nemo! (Finding Nemo).

Walk beside the mirrored ocean tunnel, the Green Sea Turtles, multiple cute fish species, and sharks right inside the Mills Mall. The destination is perfect for kids, families, photographers, and animal lovers.

This Sealife Aquarium has different fun zones, including rock pool, behind-the-scenes, shipwreck, rainbow adventure, mangrove forest, seahorse temple, and so much more! In addition, there are floors and floors of aquatic animals and a mimicked water habitat. 

In the room called behind-the-scenes, the experts can guide you through the aquarium. Experts also tell you about the 5000+ aquatic creatures inside the museum and how they sustain in an animal-friendly approach. It’s a great learning opportunity for enthusiasts.

Chisholm Park

Only fifteen minutes away from Grapevine, this colossal park covers fifty acres of land and is the most significant part of Hurst city. A three-mile paved trail encompasses the park for people who enjoy jogging or walking alongside the beautiful ducks, waterfall, and water reservoir.

Chisholm Park offers many activities such as swimming, fishing, baseball arenas, basketball court, picnic pavilion, small water park, and much more.

Furthermore, Bluebonnet, Longhorn, and Tejas are three pavilions open for public rentals to celebrate birthday parties, outdoor meetings, etc. 

This park furnishes a total of 24 picnic tables and grills where you can relish the rotisserie with your friends and family.

Grapevine Botanical Garden

Visiting Grapevine Botanical Garden was a therapeutic experience for me. Walking alongside mother nature does feel like therapy.

Be prepared to witness a wide range of flora, fauna, and greenery. There are varieties of flower species that blossom Grapevine’s surroundings and your subconscious year-round.

Mountain biking is the most famous activity tried and done by the people in this area. The trail is available throughout the year.

Rockledge Park, Murrell Park, MADD Shelter, and Twin Coves Park are different trailheads for this passage. The trails are narrower at some points and are not paved, making it difficult to reach and cover, but that’s what adventure is all about.

Grapevine Vintage Railroad

I have always been a great fan of vintage trains. Grapevine just happens to provide the perfect setting and 19th-century vibe for an unmatched tour of the city on the rail. 

In Grapevine, the vintage railroad museum presents various collections of antique trains dating back to the early 1900s. Witness the electrifying environment and experience authentic Victorian coaches that date back to the 1920s.

No matter what your age is, these vintage rides will provide you with a whole new experience. They will take you to your past, the historic downtown, and throughout Grapevine city. 

These vintage trains have open windows, balconies, and built-in cafeterias to provide food and snacks throughout the ride. 

You can even book private coaches for your group or as per your needs. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad roams along the historic Cotton Belt Route between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. 

This 21-mile trip rolls at a smooth tempo (slow-speed) to allow the passengers to witness the beauty of the village and its surroundings.
