Beacon, New York is just about a two-hour drive from New York City. When I visited Beacon for the first time, I was blown away by how delightful and charming the town was in addition to how good the food was.
This town is filled with a plethora of eateries and restaurants for all kinds of foodies, whether you’re looking to taste some of Beacon’s finest ingredients, try some unique hot dogs, or just want some classic diner food—Beacon has what you need!
I would definitely recommend taking a day or weekend trip to Beacon if you find yourself in New York. The foodie options are just too good to miss out on.

Kitchen Sink Supper Club

Kitchen Sink is dedicated “to sourcing local ingredients while exploring global flavors.” What makes this restaurant unique is that its rotating menu changes approximately every four weeks.

There are two experiences you can reserve: “Chefs Tasting” and “3-Course Tasting.”
The Chef’s Tasting menu is a five to six course experience which varies by month. The recent menu for “Chef’s Tasting” highlights tomatoes and includes: Tomato Gazpacho, Tomato Toast, Tomato and Melon, and Mini Tomato BLT. Additionally, ravioli, crispy stuffed pepper, and seared scallop are also served. This menu is priced at $85 per person and includes gratuity.
The “3-course Tasting Menu” is a condensed version of the “Chef’s Tasting” menu and is only available on Saturdays at 5:30 pm. This menu costs $50 and includes gratuity.
Please note that this establishment is a communal dining facility, so do not expect to be seated exclusively with your party.
This restaurant is better suited for adults. Kitchen Sink describes itself as “an adult night out.” Children under twelve years old do not get served.

Beacon is also home to several cafes, one of which is Cafe Amarcord located on Main Street. Cafe Amacord serves American food and offers both indoor and outdoor seating.
Appetizer options include the “Veal Meat balls Tonnato” which are served with white tuna sauce, mayo, olive oil, lemon, and capers. The “Butter-Poached Shrimp” are served with corn avocado relish and cilantro jalapeno lemon onion puree.
If you’re wanting salad, the “Brussel Sprout Salad” and “Baby Arugula Salad” are some great options.
If you’re looking for something a bit heartier, available pasta dishes include “Tagliatelle with Black Pepper Ricotta’ and “Spaghetti Carbonara with Organic Egg Yolk.“
Available main course options include the “Berkshire Pork Chop” and the “Seared Yellow Fin Tuna.”

Yankee Clipper Diner is a family owned establishment in Beacon serving classic and modern diner fare.
Whenever I go to a diner, I always enjoy munching on classic appetizers like chicken tenders or mozzarella sticks.
If you’re the same, Yankee Clipper Diner has you covered. If you’re dining with a larger party, the “Combo Snack Platter” consisting of buffalo wings, potato skins, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers & onion rings is a great option for you.
If you’re craving something more substantial, you could try one of the burgers. All of the Yankee Clipper burgers are a half-pound and served with creamy coleslaw & a dill pickle.
In my opinion, diners wouldn’t be complete without milkshakes and this one has plenty you can choose from, such as the “Oreo Milkshake” and the “Choco Peanut Butter Milkshake.”

The Pandorica

The Pandorica Restaurant is one of the most unique Beacon NY restaurants. The Pandorica is a “Doctor Who” themed restaurant even down to the names of the dishes.
Some menu items include “Bill Potts’ Cheezy Chips” and the “Madame Vastra Po Boy”—to name a few. The full menu can be found on their website.
Please note that The Pandorica Restaurant is only open on Friday (12pm–8pm), Saturday (12pm–8pm), and Sunday (12pm–5pm).

If you would like to compliment your meal, “Poutine,” “Loaded Potato Tots” and “Yogurt Parfait” are a couple of great options.
This restaurant is known for its “freshly baked bread and home-cooked meals from scratch.”
Please note that reservations are not accepted for breakfast and lunch and that the average wait time is about 45 minutes for parties with 2 to 4 diners.
If you’re looking to grab a cup of coffee or a pastry, the bakery + cafe is adjacent to the full-service restaurant.

Quinn’s is a restaurant in Beacon, New York serving authentic Japanese soul food. If you’re wanting to try some small plates, the “Purple Sweet Potato Fries” with spicy mayo or the “Shrimp Katsu” with spicy mayo are some great options.
Quinn’s is known for their specialty hot dogs. The “Yaki Wan Wan” is topped with savory sauce, bonito flakes, seaweed, ginger and mayo. The “Croquette Dog” is served with a potato croquette wedge with bulldog sauce drizzle.
If you’re looking for an alcoholic beverage, Quinn’s is the go-to spot for Sake, including the “Sho Chiku Bai,” a gold award-winning sake.
Other alcoholic beverages like Vodka, Gin, Tequila, and Japanese Whiskey are also available for purchase.
Quinn’s also frequently has live music which provides diners with a fun atmosphere while they enjoy their food and/or drinks. Definitely one of the liveliest Beacon, NY restaurants.
Max’s on Main

Max’s on Main is Beacon’s Oldest Bar “serving inventive American comfort food.” Starter options include “Beacon Rolls” which are made up of “shaved beef, cheese, caramelized onions & peppers, wrapped and fried crispy, served with salsa.” “Max’s Wings” are also another great option and consist of “crunchy and tender chicken wings tossed in the sauce of your choice: Hot, Mild, Pineapple BBQ, Teriyaki, or Mix Hot and Teriyaki together to make them ‘Main Street Style’.”
Salad options are plentiful with the “SW Cobb Salad” and “The Treasure of the Steak Madre” being two great options. The latter salad is described as “Our Famous Marinated Flank Steak Over Mixed Greens with Cucumbers, Red and Green Cabbage, Carrots, Peanuts, and Cilantro in a Miso Vinaigrette.”
If you’re looking for something a bit more substantial, “Max’s Mains” include “The Flat Iron District” which consists of “Peppercorn crusted pan seared flat iron steak with a mushroom au poivre sauce.” The “Richie Havens Rice Bowl’‘ consists of “Ginger Marinated Portabella mushrooms and asian-style vegetables over sesame rice.”
It would be a missed opportunity if I didn’t highlight some of their drink offerings including the “Maxtini” made of Absolut Citron, triple Sec, cranberry, grapefruit & lime juices as well as “Blue Motorcycle” made up of Bacardi Light, Blue Curacao, Our citrus juices, and Splash of 7 Up.”

The RoundHouse restaurant is known for serving “modern American cuisine inspired by the agricultural richness of the Hudson Valley.”
I am going to highlight some of the offerings from the “Summer All Day Menu.” Make sure to check the website for the most up-to-date menu.
If you’re looking for a snack or appetizer, The RoundHouse has plenty of those with “Burrata,” “Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes,” and “Soft Shell Crab Tempura” to name a few.
Available entrees include the “Roasted Organic French Breast Chicken” and “Pan Seared Colossal Head on Shrimp.”
If you’re in the mood for something sweet after your meal, there are a plethora of available desserts, such as the “Warm Chocolate Tart” and “Passion Fruit Mango Dome.”
What is really unique about this restaurant is that all tables have a view of the nearby waterfalls and creeks. This is definitely something to keep in mind if you’re looking for Beacon, NY restaurants with a unique ambiance.
If you wish to sit outside, patio seating is also an option (depending on availability).
