9 Best Sanur Restaurants
Dusk Blue

Dusk Blue is one of the most popular restaurants in Sanur, and for good reason. Featuring a small but interesting menu, this place is often crowded. I went for brunch–make sure to try one of their fresh-pressed juice combinations.
Cafe Smorgas-
Jl. Pantai Karang No.2 // +62 361-28-9361
As a family-run Swedish restaurant, Cafe Smorgas has an entire menu of local and Swedish dishes to choose from. My favorites were the open-faced sandwiches–which makes sense because “smorgas” is Swedish for sandwiches!
Jalapeño

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m constantly searching Asia for good Mexican food. Jalapeño definitely satisfied this craving. My favorite dishes were the rice bowls and their fresh guacamole.

Spice applies French cooking techniques to local Indonesian flavors. With multiple locations across Bali (and more coming soon), it’s obvious the concept has been well received.
All of the ingredients are locally sourced, and the chef has received multiple awards for his work.
Make sure to check out the cocktail menu. Their creative offerings are designed around the freshest local ingredients and whole spices blended with imported spirits from around the world. The mixologist is happy to suggest the perfect cocktail pairing for your meal.

White House

White House was an unexpected find, and I expect to find them on many futures “where to eat in Sanur” lists. The menu was interesting, the presentation was gorgeous, and most importantly, the food was delicious. I had an opportunity to visit with the chef during my stay, and he seemed both passionate and excited. I left wanting to try every dish on his menu.
Grocer & Grind-

While I typically try to avoid chains, I was happy to discover this Grocer & Grind. A large menu featuring many local and Western dishes, this spot also had some of the best wifi I found in Sanur–perfect if you need to get caught up on some work!
Massimo’s

Massimo’s menu is so large it’s almost intimidating. The chef is actually from Italy, and it shows in his cooking–this place is definitely one of the best Sanur restaurants and a favorite to many. The octopus carpaccio was sliced near paper-thin before being drizzled with olive oil, a squeeze of lemon, and finally freshly cracked black pepper. I’m still craving this dish!

Saving the best for last–you can likely tell by the number of photos I have from this place how many times I have visited. This was easily my favorite place to eat in Sanur.
More than once I went for breakfast and spent the day working there, staying long enough to end up hungry for lunch.
Another night we met friends here for dinner and all raved about the menu. Everything we tried we loved. It was as though the presentation was created for Instagram, and the service was some of the best in town.

Right out the gates: Option one “Eggs Benedict over potato cakes with a side of bacon and mushrooms” has got my mouth watering. I also love the name of the last place “Soul In A Bowl” cool. Your pictures are fantastic and I really shouldn’t be reading your posts on an empty stomach.

Holy crap! Every single one of those dishes looks delectable! That salmon eggs Benedict made my mouth water and then I think I actually drooled a little bit when I got to the octopus carpaccio. I already wanted to go to Bali… now I want to go to Bali to EAT!
Eating is pretty much all I’ve been doing since I got here! I need to make more time for the beach lol.
I must admit these restaurant carry a lot of wonderful dishes. I would love to try the Chicken fajitas with corn tortillas from Jalapeño, the Linguine with fresh clams from Massimo’s and the Fried calamari with black vinegar from White House. Are the prices reasonable though?

The food in Bali looks so fresh and healthy! I don’t eat meat but I would definitely stuff my face with local fish dishes and those aubergine fries look so delicious – yummy!
I’ve really been pleasantly surprised by the food here! It’s all been amazing and yes, mostly healthy.
All looks great, we arrive in Bali next month. We will be travelling on a budget , will you be doing any reviews on authentic street food with prices? That’s the type of food we’re interested in.
If I find street food I will for sure! I’ve mostly been in beach towns so I haven’t found much street food. I plan to do an article on local food after my visit.
