You might ask why I chose to start blogging now- a full two years into my trip. I know I’ve asked myself that several times. I considered starting a blog when I left home. I even bought a domain and hosting package that I’ve been paying on monthly.
When I left I thought I was leaving on a six-month trip so I talked myself out of starting the blog. Why spend all the time and effort to try to build an audience when I was just going to be back home in an office soon?
I thought it would take away from my trip if I were constantly looking for wifi, editing photos, posting, etc. rather than being in the moment and taking the most out of my time.
It seemed complicated. I found a million reasons to not.
So why now?
At this point I just crossed the two-year mark and I have plans for at least another two years of travel, likely more.
Throughout my trip I’ve had the opportunity to meet, hang out with and even become friends with some of my favorite travel bloggers.
I had previously bought a blogging course from Nomadic Matt that I never used that I’ve now started going through.
I also realized that I spend a lot of my time (gladly) helping friends, family, and even strangers plan and organize trips and giving advice on things to see and do. I feel like it would be nice to have all of that information arranged and easily accessible.
Lastly, I’ve been basing myself out of Chiang Mai, Thailand, which is somewhat of a blogger haven. I’ve met a lot of people in the digital nomad community who made the process seem more approachable. Now just feels like the right time. Finally.
I’m excited to get started and make all of the mistakes that a new blogger is sure to make. I would love it if you’d follow along with me and I welcome all input, comments and criticism as I go along. Drop me a line in the Contact section or find me on social media.

A blogger friend of mine suggested to me to use something that is more focused as AII sounded too vague and people might not know what the intent of it was. Please do come visit soon! I’ll be in Europe for the summer so those flights are shorter and cheaper!
Better late than never is my philosophy! I started blogging myself about 2 years ago to capture some of the trips I have taken over the years – both personal and work related.
If I am not using it to capture the memories that I had of these trips so I don’t forget the details years from now, then I am referring friends and family to some of my posts whenever they start asking me for tips and advice about places they want to go to that I have already been.
Funny how life goes – you plan one thing (a six month trip), and something else happens along the way to change your direction altogether (your perpetual world travel).
