Who has the best pizza in Worcester, Massachusetts? Most individuals like participating in this argument. Some restaurants in Central Massachusetts serve the classic Italian dish, which is saucy and laden with mozzarella and tomatoes. Some prepare it with a distinct kick.
This popular meal has a place in everyone’s heart, regardless of how you slice it. However, is there really a science behind it? There may be something in the water or in the yeast – whatever the case, these places are doing it right.

Best Pizza In Worcester MA
Volturno Pizza Napoletana
72 Shrewsbury St., Worcester, MA 01604, the United States // +15087568658
The open kitchen propels Volturno to the top of Worcester, MA’s best pizza restaurants list. Essentially, it’s a cave where chefs amuse you with a bright exhibition of creation.
This isn’t the quiet and sophisticated ambiance of a classic pizzeria but rather an exuberant one in which chefs converse in lovely Italian tones as they work their magic, and I appreciated the energy.
The interior is decorated with Baroque artifacts to contemporary art that would melt any enthusiast’s heart – this is more than just another pizza shop.
Volturno offers a variety of pies that encourages experimentation. My lunch consisted of a simple Margherita pizza, a distinctive fall Cavolo salad, and freshly brewed iced tea. The thin crust pizza (Napolitano style) might have been crisper, but it was still delicious.

It is evident that they employ high-quality ingredients, and it shows. For example, the salad of baby kale, apple slices, walnuts, dried cranberries, gorgonzola, and pomegranate with an apple cider vinaigrette was delicious!
If you like mushrooms, their Funghi Pizza comes with wild mushrooms, truffle crème, and all the cheese you could want.
I know mushrooms are popular pizza toppings, but what about spring squashes? These, along with mint, Panna, pine nuts, and ricotta, may be found on the Zucca pizza.
Volturno has become a public favorite due to its vast range of selection and outstanding quality, whether you’re a wild child pizza enthusiast or a traditionalist. So make sure to visit it!
Wonder Bar
121 Shrewsbury St, Worcester, MA 01604, the United States // +15087529909
Wonder Bar has been in business for quite some time. They’ve always been recognized for their delicious pizza and made-to-order pasta dishes.
While they began as a bar, they have recently transformed into a pizza delivery company, meaning you can order practically everything on their menu without waiting in line.
The decor was so retro, and the jukebox featured all kinds of old and modern songs that I felt I was back in the 1960s from the outside and upon entering.
Some people may be turned off because it seems old, but that is exactly what I enjoyed about it.
We got the special pizza with chicken, garlic, and spinach and a pitcher of Sam Adams! Excellent thin crust with tangy sauce and a generous amount of garlic.
My friends had pasta with red sauce and mushrooms and spaghetti with meatballs, both of which were delicious and served in generous portions.
Make sure you check out this great restaurant if you’re looking for great pizza. That’s a decision you won’t regret!
Leo’s Ristorante
11 Leo Turo Way, Worcester, MA 01604, the United States // +15087539490
If your mouth is watering right now, it’s because you’re fantasizing about the amazing pizza options at Leo’s Ristorante. That’s what I thought as soon as I went in, as the aroma of caldrons of pasta and crimson sauce drifted through my nostrils with each new door opened. Leo’s definitely has some of the best pizza in Worcester MA.
The nice thing about Leo’s is that you can make your own pizza. Who doesn’t enjoy the luxury of sprinkling any toppings they choose on their dough sheet?
I began with stuffed mushrooms and an antipasto salad as an appetizer. The mushrooms were excellently packed with shrimp, and the antipasto was presented cold with all of the characteristic Italian cold cuts. “Wonderful.”
Although their pizzas are delicious, I wanted something else for the main course dinner. Their Seafood Risotto Alla Milanese was delicious.
The risotto was wonderfully cooked, and the sauce was flavorful with just the right amount of shellfish. The scallops, shrimp, and lobster were all wonderfully cooked. For dessert, I chose spumoni, which I hadn’t tasted in years. It went well with a fantastic claret sauce.
If you like to experiment, their Panino Pizza features caramelized onions, sausage, and ricotta cheese. Leo’s is a Worcester institution and a fantastic place to socialize with friends and family!
Kelley Square Pizza
29 Kelley Sq, Worcester, MA 01610, the United States // +15087547522
Any pizza enthusiast should try Kelley Square Pizza. This restaurant, located in Worcester’s lively Kelley Square neighborhood, serves some of the greatest old-fashioned pizza around.
Their bread’s warm and fluffy crust is piled high with pepperoni, mushrooms, and spinach, indicating that their oven hasn’t been used just once or twice a day.
I ordered the Chix Broc Alfredo, topped with fantastic alfredo sauce, grilled chicken, broccoli and mouthwatering cheese. It was indeed heaven in my mouth!
My friend ordered their Honey BBQ Chicken Pizza with bacon and caramelized onion; he was truly amazed and satisfied!
Definitely a place you should check out if you love pizza; you will want more after you visit!
Antonio’s Pizza By The Slice
268 Chandler St., Worcester, MA 01602, the United States // +17745306000
I truly enjoy Antonio’s Pizza because I always have a good time there and it makes some of the best pizza in Worcester MA. It is a lively pizza joint that has been in Worcester for many years and has become an essential part of the city’s real estate market.
For pizza, they always use locally farmed and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant is best suited for dining with friends or family. Antonio’s has shattered the pattern of making pizza and stepped away from the norm.
The restaurant is large and spacious, with many seating options, including bar and patio seats – always a plus.
To start, I ordered the French truffle fries. They were good but a little greasy, not saturated, but they looked oily when they arrived. I can’t seem to resist picking at the basket. By the time we leave, it is always empty.
For my main course, I ordered a Hawaiian pizza with jalapenos. I enjoy how their pizza isn’t too thick but also not too thin like a flatbread pizza, creating the ideal balance of thick and thin. They also prepare their pizzas in a brick oven, making the pizza more crispy and baked.
Outside, there is also music and seating, which adds to the lively and entertaining ambiance. So, stop by Antonio’s Pizza to sample their signature pies in a warm and cozy setting!
