The Coast Resort, located on the island of Koh Phangan, Thailand, is a contemporary, stylish resort that incorporates the concept of outdoor living and tropical surroundings into the high-end property.
The hotel is located on Sunset Beach, also known as Haad Rin Nai. The location is ideal, as it’s just a short walk to the area where the (in)famous Full Moon Party is held, but far enough away that you won’t be disturbed by the intense party scene.
The grounds of the property have the feel of a tropical garden and feature an impressive beachside infinity pool and stretch of private beach.
For me, the pool was the centerpiece of the property. It is simply gorgeous and has been flawlessly designed to appear as though it flows directly into the ocean.
I know it may sound odd to be steps from the ocean and never leave the pool, but the pool area was so gorgeous I hardly left my sunbed during my entire stay.
The property also offers activities other than laying by the pool, such as free daily yoga or complimentary kayaking using the kayaks located near the bar and restaurant.

Room Types at The Coast Resort
The Coast Resort offers many room types that fit any travel situation. These basic rooms are great for solo travelers or couples:
There are also suites and villas for families or business travelers:
If you’re visiting the property for business or need to work during your stay, I would definitely recommend something other than the standard room, as it is the only option not to not include a desk or working space.
My favorite room option was the poolside villas. How amazing would it be to wake up to this view every morning?
The property also features a restaurant with a host of local and Western options. The restaurant is located on the beach, directly next to the pool area.
You can choose to dine on the sand or even have your meals and drinks delivered directly to your sunbed.
Or, if you’d rather, you don’t even have to leave the pool for a cocktail. The bartenders are happy to make you your favorite drink and serve it to you at the swim-up bar.
Sunsets at The Coast Resort
True to its name, the Sunset Beach delivered some of the most incredible sunsets I’ve ever seen.
I tried not to overdo sunset photos on my Instagram during my stay, but when every night looked like this, it was a bit difficult:

Travel writer and owner of the blog. My work has been featured on Fodors, Eater.com, International Living, and Great Escape Publishing, among many others. My story? Nearly six years ago, I left my job at an Oklahoma City law firm and embarked on a journey around the world. At the time, I thought I would only be gone for 6 months, but the more I traveled, the longer my bucket list became. Flashpacker describes how I travel. Rather than traveling as the normal world wise backpacker and staying in hostel dorms, I prefer a more comfortable experience, and typically stay in private rooms, take Ubers instead of taxis, and now use a suitcase instead of a backpack. Foodie, on the other hand, describes one of the key reasons why I travel. I love to pick a central “base camp” and then explore the surrounding area, really immersing myself in the culture and interacting with the people, and enjoying and exploring the food of an area is an essential part of this experience.
